Marking the 20th anniversary of UVA's first collaboration with Massive Attack for their 100th Window Tour, UVA joined forces with Robert Del Naja and filmmaker Adam Curtis to create a new live show for the band's 2024/25 tour.
I was tasked with building a custom playback system in Touchdesigner which allowed the team to build different generative treatments and sequence them along a timeline for each track, similar to how you might do this is in other popular media server software.
My system included the following:
BPM quantized timeline UI with keyframeable cues and waveform visualization
Track system allowing for separate tracks for each song in the set
Timecode implementation to trigger tracks and frame lock the timeline
3D visualizer with screen pixel simulation
Track rendering system with render list
Asset management system allowing for multiple user workflow
Full menu UI system

Development of a variety of custom modules in Touchdesigner such as face tracking, particle systems, text tools as well as many more.
